The 2010 ultra season has come to an end, and the first week of 2011 is in the books. Hard to believe that I have been competing in ultras for over 12 years. I never thought I would be still running competitively at 43. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I said “this would be the last year” or “I’ll stop at 37″. Stopping would be so much easier if I was slowing down. No sign of slowing down at my last race of 2010 – World 100K Champs – so I am embarking in another year with an ambitious schedule that includes going after my third national title at US 100 K Champs in April (Mad City), and ultimately a shot at improving on this year’s 14th place at World 100 K Champs. The 2011 World Champs are at a venue I know quite well and where my 100K PR was set.
Being new to this whole “social media” thing (yes I am a child of the 60″s so Sony Walkmans were cool to me), I hope to post my adventures in running and life on this blog, and I hope you find my adventures as interesting as I do.
Cheers!
